A suggestion on the language that starts on line 253, detailing what an emergency power system consists of; if I can suggest changing " a power switch panel" to an "autosensing power transfer switch" or smart switch.

In line 257, the text reflects a scenario detailing the chain of events when a site transitions from commercial power to generaotr power. The language I believe needs to reflect that the UPS remains in circuit regardless of the source being commercial or generator, doing so allows for the UPS to prevent spikes or low voltage drops from damaging mission critical components that should sit behind the building UPS unit. There should also be a comment regarding the need and benefits of a UPS bypass capability, a critical failure within a sites UPS system could render the site inoperable even with a full compliment of commercial electricity and an operational generator. The bypass ability would allow for the site to run without the protection of a UPS.

We added this bullet to 3.1.1.2 UPS now line 280

  • The 9-1-1 authority should investigate any needs or benefits of an UPS bypass capability. Critical failure within a site’s UPS system could render the site inoperable even with a full complement of commercial electricity and an operational generator. The bypass ability would allow for the site to run without the protection of a UPS.

We added this to section 3.1.1.1 line 255 (re your comment on line 253)
