NENA Standard in this case {Street Suffix} US Postal Service Publication 28 unfortunately to date is not the format used by many phone providers. This has been an on going problem for years within our district and causes response confusion from one provider to another within our boundaries.

I would like to see advancement if its not happening already to have all phone providers on the same page.

Comment rejected because it is beyond the scope of a NENA recommended standard to compel all phone providers.

Per our discussion, I went back and verified that in SIX separate places for "Street Suffix" the document clearly already states to use a valid street abbreviation, "as defined by US Postal Service Publication 28".  Therefore, adding further additional references to say the same thing more times in the document would not make the point any clearer.  However, as discussed separate from this document, will raise your concern with appropriate NENA people regarding regulatory matters.  Thank you.  Regards, RAM

Street Suffix  R  AN  Valid Street abbreviation, as defined by the US Postal Service Publication 28. (e.g. AVE)
